Video Editing
Week 1

In our first meeting we were shown a short video called 'Today's Special' which was made by Taylor students. The video is about a couple who's having their lunch date, but then they found out that their food is made out of plastic. The video is made to raise awareness of the increasing accumulation plastic in the ocean. Plastic is found to be ingested by fishes and marine lives, and there may be a bad effect on humans who eat those fishes.

As an introduction to premiere pro, we were given an exercise to compile the raw footages of 'Today's Special' and turn it into a complete piece. Mr Martin Chong taught us the way to import footages to premiere pro, view it and insert it into the timeline, and create a sequence.

First, double click on the video thumbnail to view and then establish the beginning and the end of the desired clip with the shortcuts 'i' and 'o'. Then, drag the video to the timeline. Finally, continue on adding the rest of the clips and avoid jump cuts. Jump cuts involve two clips which look similar, thus it can make the video look weird.

At first I struggled a bit because I am still clueless of the order, it's best to be familiar with the story line and watch all the raw footages. Below is the final edit, it's not the same edit which I made during the day itself but it's similar and improved. Somehow the data was lost when I opened the premiere pro in my laptop (perhaps because of different version).
