Conceptual
What are the typical elements of humor in animation and live-action?

Inspiration can come in many places.

The topic you select needs to be one that can be addressed in an appropriately academic manner within the time constraints of the report or dissertation.

Will the topic sustain your interest over the months to come?

Harvard style references to be used.



A TITLE & A QUESTION

Research Title
It should be formulated tso that the reader would get the idea of what he/she will be reading about

Research Question
Research questions presents the area of investigation.

What makes a good research question?
  • Relevant 
  • Manageable (Time frame and limitation)
  • Substantial and with original dimensions
  • Consistent with the requirements of the assessment
  • Clear and Simple 
  • Interesting

REFERENCING
Why do you need to reference?
  • direct quotation
  • paraphrase
  • statistics
  • tables, figures, diagrams and appendices
  • use controversial facts, opinions or a date which might be challenged (need to support your statement)

Three main reasons 
  • to give credit to authors
  • to provide reader with evidence of the breadth and depth of your reading
  • to enable readers if your work to locate the cited references easily

When to use this references? When you use any source of information for
  • your inspiration
  • particular facts
  • specific data
  • direct quotation
  • paraphrasing of author's words

Plagiarism is the act of using or copying someone else's idea or work and trying to present it as your own

  • Bibliography -- the list of content source used in developing a publication (may not be relevant but list them down)

Paraphrasing
paraphrasing means restate accurately and succinctly in your own words something you have read. Rephrase it in your own sentence.
